In defense of a good plan.

“A man who does not plan long ahead will find trouble at his door.”

(Confucius)

We’ve all heard it before: failing to plan is planning to fail.

But as 2018 gets into swing (and I just had to take a deep breath as I typed that once again), Confucius may have nailed it hundreds of years ago. Who wants trouble at his or her door? Not me.

I decided to research some other thoughts on planning, and apply them to why taking advantage of NetCare™ Plan is one of the most productive things you can be doing these days.

Charles Darwin, scientist, researcher and writer of The Origin of Species put it this way: “It is not the strongest of the species that survive, not the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.”

And the 20th Century philosopher Bob Dylan would add “the times they are a-changing.”

The fact is no one can afford to remain stagnant these days, fixed in the way things are. You will simply be left behind. In 2005, Amazon Prime did not exist. Think about that for a minute. And nowhere is change more imminent than in IT and systems technologies. New processing, new hardware, new innovations are around every turn.

But change starts with a plan. And in some ways, it’s not the plan that’s the most important. It’s the planning, the hard work that goes with considering where you are now, where you want to be and how you think you’ll get there.

We’re here to help. Carolinas NetCare considers planning one of its six core competencies, and our clients benefit greatly when taking advantage of the service.

And waiting is not an option. General George S. Patton famously said, “a good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow.” We will never have all the information because all of the information changes. But that is not to say we are not informed with the best data available today. We are! And working with us on your plan will ensure you are further down the path at the start.

And just one more…

“Good fortune is what happens when opportunity meets with planning.”

That’s from none other than Thomas Alva Edison, perhaps the greatest and most prolific inventor of the 19th and 20th centuries. But even Edison knew that good fortune depends on a little of both opportunity and planning. You’re already in a good business. Let Carolinas NetCare help you make it even better.
