
The Net Care Way
Carolinas Net Care (CNC) provides the best value possible from the investment made in IT solutions by small to mid-sized organizations.
CNC deploys new technologies and products through a three step process. New solutions are evaluated in a test environment by company engineers to determine the viability of the technology in the SMB space. Products that are deemed to have merit are then deployed on the production network at CNC, where they are put to use by CNC staff in their daily work. Finally the technologies are implemented in the Net Care Lab, where they are available for customer demonstration, staff training and other non-production environment uses.
Testing Phase
Products are evaluated during the testing phase for a variety of qualities. Products must have quality engineering behind them. CNC staff believes that the long term reliability of any product begins with quality development and engineering practices. Products are also evaluated for their ease of use by end users. Small businesses typically struggle to find enough time to train their staff, so ease of use is important in their environment. Ease of maintenance during the full product life-cycle is an additional consideration. Disruptions to the IT environment are painful for small organizations, so it is important that technologies are reliable and easily maintained. Products must pass our testing for quality engineering, ease of use, and reliable maintenance before moving to the production deployment phase.
Production Deployment Phase
CNC firmly embraces a concept shared by a number of other IT companies including Microsoft. This concept is often referred to as “eating your own dog food.” It simply means that our team members use the same solutions that we recommend. Even though the majority of our staff are trained network engineers, they work in an environment that has the same security settings and user restrictions that we recommend for our clients. This ensures that our support staff will be familiar with the challenges faced by our customers’ staff from firsthand experience.
CNC also manages the products and technologies for our internal network using the same processes we deploy for customers – with one major difference. CNC trouble tickets are handled by our technical leadership team. Our technology brain trust has a vested interest in how well our processes work!
Lab Deployment Phase
CNC maintains a fully functional network for Net Care Lab. Although the Lab has no “real” employees, this network provides a desktop, laptop and all of the functionality provided to our customer sites. This provides a safe environment for our staff to learn and test their skills working with the same configurations that are deployed in the field for actual customers. |
