Deborah King – Director of Administration

Deborah hails from Winston-Salem, NC and is a cum laude graduate of Wake Forest University with a major in US History. Beginning her working career as an internal bank auditor clarified the financial realization that a liberal arts degree may not have prepared her for a career in business. In spite of that, she continued to progress professionally, gaining experience in supervision of personnel and related human resources.

Deborah made the decision to enroll in the UNCC business school – reforming her BA into an accounting concentration. She gained her CPA designation and worked in industry as a CFO and Project Manager/Consultant for the implementation of accounting software packages. During her career as a consultant, Deborah gained not only expertise in Microsoft Office and Business Solution products; but, firsthand knowledge of the challenges that end users face with the introduction of new and different software and operating environments.

Taking advantage of her years of implementation and documentation of procedures, we often utilize her experience in the testing phase of customer facing software and documentation. She has developed the technical term, “Dumb Deborah Test” to refer to viewing and testing operating procedures from a strictly end-user perspective. We respect that she is similar to our client end-users – intelligent without specific knowledge of the IT environment, making her an ideal testing resource.
